More abstract!

Vinzent explore the paint. How it can be applied in different ways, with brushes, fingers, paint knives an other things. He is becoming a skilled mixer of paints and able to make any color of his choice. He often bring different techniques together, different materials, different colors. It is great to see the influences of our recent visits to art museums in Stockholm and Oslo.

When the pallette is too small!

Vinzent has learnt that acrylic paint is easy to wash away from your hands before it dries. He sometimes like to find the right colour by mixing the different colours with his powerful hands. Then the pallette is too small and instead he will use the floor. Good that daddy covered the floor with thick paper. This is the colour needed foor a tree trunk.

And here is the tree trunk!

Here is

Vinzent learns to paint!

Vinzent learns to paint with acrylics. In this painting Vinzent did the design, then daddy and Vinzent together colored the mountains, the grass and the tiger. We had some lectures with Marrz Capanang in Iloilo and hope to meet some other artists as well. In some cases Vinzent grabs everything immideately while in other cases he need to practise a lot. Unfortunately we do not have any other artist than Vinzent at home but daddy tries his best to be the home teacher. Vinzent often learns best from viewing someone else doing, or doing together, hence we will do some paintings together. And it is fun!

imageVinzent is excited about mixing paints to get new colors and to paint over something that he does not like with something new. The challenge is to learn about the properties of different brushes, different sizes of the brush and even different paints and colors. And to stop mixing the colors when they look good even if it is fun to continue until all is grey and brown. Then with Vinzents style to start with larger figures and when the skills improve be able to paint what he like to paint in any size. Right now daddy is cleaning brushes many times every day! Often after color mixing only!

In this painting Vinzent outlined the tiger, the ground and the mountains first then we colored the tiger and the background together. To the left of the tiger we colored the background first (not visible in this picture) then Vinzent did two wellknown figures, daddy and Thomas that we are now coloring together. Right now large parts of daddy and Thomas have been overpainted. It is not easy to paint daddy and Thomas looking nice!

The lion on the savannah!

Vinzent’s 2nd acrylic painting, “The lion on the savannah”. Vinzent is like a dry knowledge sponge sucking up and learn from everything he see. But often he also looks just a short while and then flowing away on his own with his brush, the paint, the canvas and his creativity. Learning from the teacher, but soon experimenting on his own.

The same painting ready to hang on the wall with a home made frame mounted. Lots to learn also for daddy and uncle Bodoy.
